Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Hidroeléctrica – Aguas Calientes

At 07.00 AM you will be picked up from your hotel to head to the Sacred Valley where you will have breakfast. After breakfast you will be going to Abra Malaga at 4400 meters above sea level. At the summit you can see the with snow covered Verónica and Salkantay mountain tops. From Abra Malaga you will be descending to the jungle area of Santa María, passing by the Urubamba River and arriving in Santa Teresa where you will make a stop for lunch. From Santa Teresa you will continue the tour by bus to Hidroeléctrica. At Hidroelécrica you will walk to Aguas Calientes, where you will have dinner and stay the night.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Hydroelectric – Cusco

Day 2 is the most significant day of you trip as you will arrive at Machu Picchu. There are two ways to get from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu on which you are free to decide; 1 ½ hour walk or a 30 minutes bus ride. However, it is recommended to arrive early to Machu Picchu in order to appreciate the spectacular sunrise. Once you arrive at Machu Picchu, you will have a guided tour of 2 hours around the most important points of the archeological site. After a considerable time, you will return walking to Hidroeléctrica where private transport will await you to take you back to Cusco.
