Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel to leave to town Tungasuka, from here the you continue to lake Tungasuka. At lake Tungasuka you will be able to observe a wide variety of birds. Near lake Tungasuka is lake Asnaqocha where we will walk around. Near lake Acopia you will visit the house of the late Valeriana Huillca, famous for the inspiration of the popular huayno music. Afterwards, you will take a boat ride through lake Pomacanchi and have a typical lunch nearby. The tour continues by visiting the Temple of Sangarara which is historical in the emancipatory deed of many martyrs in the Tupac Amaru revolution.

Lake Tungasuka

Lake Tungasuka is the highest located lake of the tour. The surroundings of the lake house a wide variety of wildlife due to the abundance of totorales plants.

Lake Asnaqocha

Lake Asnaqocha is also known as ¨the bad-smelling lake¨ due to the high concentration of algae that the lake contains. When the algae get exposed to the sun, it produces a strong smell.

Lake Acopia

Lake Acopia is located in the town called Acopia. Lake Acopia and surroundings are very populated with birds, pelicans and wild ducks.

Lake Pomacanchi

Lake Pomacanchi is located at the upper part of the Vilcanota River, has a maximum depth of 140 meters. Around it there are abundant natural pastures, etc. In the lake Pomacanchi you will take a boat ride.
